Well I tried my hand for the first time at doing the Art Creations Friday challenge. I am just a beginner with photoshop and all that it entails, but it just mesmerizes me. Here is the photo given to use for the challenge...
and here is what I created...
what do you think?
Ok, for today I must put away my toys and help my DH. He has enterred us in a local chili cookoff and I am "the help". The cookoff is at our church - there are about 13 teams. I made a quick table cloth by buying some fabric at Hobby Lobby and slapping a ruffle on it with red crepe paper (small expense), I then made a sign for our table by taking a canvass, decoupaging pieces of newspaper on it, grunging it a bit with coffee and white paint, then adding letters and embellishments from my Cricut (which I have to admit is being used for the first time - I have had it for 2 years and never touched it - shame on me - it is a wonderful little gadget!). I put together a quick floral arrangement and there you have it - the chili table for "The Roadkill Cookers".
Remember on my last post I talked about impatiently waiting at the microwave and that my time management needed to improve? Namely, I needed to slow down and I needed to bring God to the forefront of my life. Well, this morning when I was getting ready for church - in a hurry as usual - and a bit tired because of a late night, I did the most ridiculous thing. Ok, this is a "woman thing"....sometimes we can get dressed in odd ways, if we forget a layer, the lazy way is to back out of the first article of clothing just to the neck and then put on the under article and then pull the first article back down over the top. Well this was my method this morning. I put on a skirt and top and then decided I wanted to wear a slip (I know - how old fashioned is that!) so I pulled my top up, took my arms out of it, but left it around my neck - then I put the slip over my head and put my arms through it and then proceeded to put my arms back through the top and pull it down - everything good, right? Well, when I got home from church and was undressing to get into my comfy clothes, I realized that the slip had been put on backwards under my clothes with the bra or boob area to the back! I hope no one noticed the extra padding from the bra area of my slip across my back! Yet another lesson in slowing down (and using a mirror before leaving the house).
May God bless you today and give you some quiet time and rest to abide in Him.
