Yep, I have said it many times, I just love taking classes and online classes are no exception. I have just started one called The She Art Workshop and talk about interesting and fun techniques. I am just watching the videos right now, but hope to get my fingers into paper and paint real soon. Christy Tomlinson's enthusiasm for her art and each piece as she is creating is definitely motivating. I love how she builds layer after layer of interest and texture with fun applications. Check out Christy's blog and preview a couple of her videos and I think you will be hooked too! There is also a link button to the right regarding her class. If you are in to journaling, Christy has a class for that as well.
Here is a quick snap of the tree I am working on in my BOM (Block of the Month) CQ for March. The trunk and branches were beaded with kind of a bead soup of various beads and bugles. Spaces have been left for silk ribbon flowers to be added. I believe it will be a dogwood tree. Crazy Quilt and SRE are a bit hard to blog about on a regular basis as they do take a bit of time to complete so I thought I would just show you my progress and, of course, the finished tree, hopefully in the very near future.
I also have a pic here of my first signature I am working on for my fabric journal I started. The page is not finished, but at least it is started. For some reason, this has been a more difficult process for me than I thought it would be - I think because I am not sure at all where the journal is headed - I am just winging it. Usually I have a specific design in mind when I start a project, but this is more abstract - I am pulling from a pile of fabric, lace, pictures, paper, etc. as I go so a lot depends on what I have on hand. I also want the words I include with the picture to be appropriate - I was thinking of something like..."she felt God's embrace in the beauty around her"...what do you think? The colors are showing a little crazy here - there are more brown tones - I tend to use browns a lot - I am trying really hard with this project to bring in some color.
I thought I would end today with posting a picture from my angel collection - perhaps you can use this in your art creations.
Glimmers of Faith
I pray that, according to the riches of His glory, he may grant that you may be strengthened in your inner being with power through His Spirit. Ephesians 3:16
"The saints are the sinners who keep on trying." Robert Louis Stevenson
My prayer for "us" today is that we will keep our communication with God ongoing and that we will keep ourselves open to His divine will.
May you be richly blessed!
Till next time,
