I wanted to show you a couple of beautiful wall hanging quilts. I am fortunate enough to be in a group of wonderful creative women who crazy quilt among other talents. Each year we make a themed crazy quilt to donate to a breast cancer center or hospital. Last year the theme was hearts and this is the quilt we put together. Sometimes, these quilts are showcased at events that raise money for that specific cause which really delights each of us who are involved. My block on the quilt below is top, center. I can't tell you how much love and care goes into the making of these quilts. Each participant joyfully creates these pieces hoping they will bring a sense of love and encouragement to all who view them.
Below is a new wall hanging quilt just finished. This is for a friend of the group who has suffered the recent passing of her son. Each participant put loving, healing messages all throughout their work with the theme of angels. My block on this quilt is the center one which I had posted on my blog a couple of weeks ago. The quilt should reach its recipient this week and we hope that it will bless her now and for years to come with all the caring thoughts and love that went into every stitch.
